Dell S2722QC Monitor Review: Is This 4K Monitor Worth the Hype?
I’ve been working from home for years now, and my old monitor was starting to show its age. The colors were washed out, the resolution was lackluster, and the overall experience was just, well, boring. I knew I needed an upgrade, but I didn’t want to break the bank. That’s when I came across the Dell S2722QC monitor. This monitor promised all the features I was looking for – 4K resolution, USB-C connectivity, and a sleek design – at a price that wouldn’t make my wallet cry. I knew it was a steal, but I still had some doubts. Would it really be worth it?
If you’re in the market for a new monitor, you’ll want to consider what features are most important to you. For many people, a 4K monitor offers a significant upgrade in terms of clarity and detail. You’ll be able to see everything in stunning sharpness, which can make a big difference when you’re working on detailed tasks, editing photos, or playing games. However, 4K monitors can also be more expensive than their 1080p counterparts, and they may require a more powerful graphics card to run smoothly.
Before you purchase a 4K monitor, think about your budget, your intended use for the monitor (e.g., gaming, work, or entertainment), and your existing hardware. If you’re on a tight budget, a 1080p monitor may be a better option. If you’re a gamer, you’ll want to make sure that your graphics card can handle a 4K resolution. And if you plan on using the monitor for both work and entertainment, you’ll want to make sure it has a wide color gamut and good viewing angles.

Features & Benefits
4K Resolution: A World of Detail
The Dell S2722QC boasts a 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels), which delivers four times the resolution of a 1080p monitor. The difference is truly stunning. Every detail pops with clarity, making everything from spreadsheets to photos to videos look incredibly crisp and vibrant. This sharp detail makes working on complex documents, editing photos, or watching movies a much more enjoyable experience. You’ll notice every intricate detail, from the individual threads in a piece of clothing to the subtle textures of a landscape.
USB-C Connectivity: Streamline Your Setup
The Dell S2722QC has a USB-C port, which is a game-changer for anyone looking to simplify their setup. You can connect your laptop, smartphone, or other devices with a single cable that transmits both video and data. No more juggling multiple cables! Plus, the USB-C port can also charge your connected device, so you can keep your laptop powered up while you’re working.
Built-in Speakers: Sound That Doesn’t Disappoint
It may seem like a small thing, but the Dell S2722QC‘s built-in speakers are surprisingly good. They offer clear sound and adequate volume for everyday use. Whether you’re watching videos, listening to music, or participating in video calls, the speakers will deliver a pleasant audio experience. You’ll no longer have to worry about connecting external speakers, which can save you space and money.
AMD FreeSync Technology: Smooth and Seamless Viewing
The Dell S2722QC supports AMD FreeSync technology. This technology helps eliminate screen tearing and stuttering, resulting in a smoother, more enjoyable viewing experience. This is especially important for gamers who want to experience smooth gameplay. It also makes video editing and other graphics-intensive tasks much more pleasant. The Dell S2722QC‘s smooth viewing experience makes it a great choice for anyone who spends a lot of time in front of their computer.
ComfortView: Reduce Eye Strain
The Dell S2722QC features Dell’s ComfortView technology, which reduces harmful blue light emissions. Spending extended hours staring at a screen can lead to eye fatigue and headaches. ComfortView helps minimize these issues by reducing the amount of blue light that reaches your eyes. This can make a big difference in your overall comfort and productivity, especially if you use your computer for long periods.
User Experiences (Social Proof)
I scoured the internet for user reviews of the Dell S2722QC monitor and found a lot of positive feedback. Many users praised the monitor for its 4K resolution, USB-C connectivity, and affordability. Here’s a quick glimpse into what other users are saying:
“I had resisted the whole ‘curved monitor’ craze because a) I’m not a gamer and b) figured it would mess with my brain. My primary use is for my remote work-from-home office and had been using Dell UltraSharp U3223QE which costs about 3 times what this monitor costs. I had another 32” monitor that crapped out and had to replace but didn’t feel like dropping another 650 bucks so thought I would give this a shot. Out of the box, it is so easy to attach the base and set up. You can plug in and test it without completely dismantling the packing materials which is important to me since monitors can be so delicate in transit. I was able to use the cords from my old monitor (power cord and HDMI) so I didn’t even have to unpack the cables provided in the original box. I’m using an M3 MBP that my company provided and it works flawlessly. Absolutely no flicker. Colors are decent (though out of the box, it looked like it was in “night mode” with a yellow tinge — but was able to find a setting that looked more like a “true white” during the day. The text is clear as can be. The curve is subtle but does seem to draw you in more than the flat screen. For the money, I never expected to have the quality of a monitor that costs 3x the price but if anything, I prefer this to the more expensive monitor. It is all I can do to swap out the other flat panel to have a matched pair. Build quality is also very solid. I have had monitors where the stand is built upon a plastic base so that if you “type with purpose” (I use a mechanical keyboard and play piano so definitely have a tendency to pound away!), the whole monitor would wobble which is really annoying and distracting. Not an issue with this monitor AT ALL! If you have limited funds but want/need a 32″ ultra clear monitor, this is AN EXCELLENT choice.”
Conclusion
If you’re looking for a high-quality 4K monitor that won’t break the bank, the Dell S2722QC is a fantastic option. It offers a great combination of features, including 4K resolution, USB-C connectivity, and a comfortable viewing experience. The Dell S2722QC is perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy the benefits of a 4K monitor without spending a fortune.
